The Wildcats fell 2-1 to Central Plains on Sunday afternoon in Hartney. The Wildcats had a goal called off after a quick whistle then hit 3 posts late in the 2nd period and that came back to haunt them.

Slator Commits to NAIT OOKS

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Kaitlyn Slator, a 3rd year Wildcat from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Ooks in the fall of 2018.  She plans to enter the Respiratory Therapy and Diagnostic Sonography programs.

 So far in 4 starts this season in league play, Kaitie has posted a 2 win and 1 overtime loss, a 1.04 goals against average and a .955 save percentage. In 15 starts during league play last year, Kaitie posted a 12-3 record with a 1.53 goals against average and a .931 save percentage. In her 1st year in the league, Kaitie posted a 10-2 record, a 0.83 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.

From Head Coach Deanna Martin of the NAIT Ooks, "We are excited to see the growth in Kaitlyn, with daily practice and specific goalie training.” 

 NAIT plays in the ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference)

NAIT is a polytechic and applied science institure located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. NAIT provides careers programs in applied research, technical training, applied education, and learning designed to meet the demands of Alberta's technical and knowledge-based industries. NAIT offers approximately 140 credit programs leading to applied degrees, diplomas and certificates. There are approximately 8,400 full-time students, 20,500 students in continuing education and part-time studies, 12,300 apprentices anticipated for 2012, and more than 20,000 registrants for customized corporate based training. NAIT also attracts international students from 77 countries.


Wildcats Defeat Yellowhead 1-0 in their final game of tournament

Paige Hubbard banged home a puck from in tight midway through the 2nd period to lead the Westman Wildcats to a 1-0 victory over the Yellowhead Chiefs on Sunday morning in Faribault, Minnesota.  Shaylee Scraba and Aly O'Hara picked up the assists on the play.

It was an end-to-end affair with a solid effort from both sides in the 8 AM tilt.

Kaitie Slator picked up the victory in net.

The Wildcats are at home this weekend for two games:

Saturday evening at 7:30 vs the Winnipeg Avros; and

Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM vs the Central Plains Capitals.
