Westman Wildcats Prospect Camp Day 3
Mar 24, 2012, 1:31 pm
The coaching staff did a great job making the two teams at the Annual Prospects camp very even as the inter-squad game went down to the final buzzer with Team Blue hitting the cross bar trying to tie it up and force the game to a shootout. However Team White came from behind and came out ahead for a final score of 3-2. Scoring for Team White with two goals was KJ Wallace of Oak Lake. Chipping in with one of her own was Teagan Pringle of Glenboro. Kirkup assisted on the first and last goals for Team White. Scoring for Team Blue, to get the early lead, was Jessica Vallotton of Ninette with assists going to Magwood and Elise Badiou of Wawanesa. Magwood rounded out the scoring late in the 3rd period for Team Blue. Well this wraps up the Westman Wildcats Annual Prospects camp for another year and by the look of how young and how good the players coming out of Peewee and bantam are, the future looks very bright for the Wildcat organization. Never be satisfied current and future Wildcats. We will see you in the fall.

 Westman Wildcats Prospect Camp 2012

The pace at the second inter-squad game of the Spring Prospect camp was a lot quicker as the players were getting comfortable with each other.

Team Blue beat Team White 4-2. Jaycee Magwood of Killarney scored 4 unanswered goals after Team White got out to a 2-0 lead. Team Blue forward Keisha Robertson of Virden had a nice assist on Magwood's second goal. Pacing Team White's attack was Karissa Kirkup of Virden with a goal and an assist. Scoring her first goal of the Prospects was Haley Husmann of Fairfax going to the net and burying a rebound from a shot from the point. Also picking up an assist on Kirkup’s first goal was Jossa Danis of Brandon.

In the second period goalie Rachelle Lougheed of Melita made a spectacular save on Lexie Kalynuk of Virden to keep the score close. Kaitlyn Crowe of Deloraine and Brianna Williams of Souris were very solid defensively for their respective teams.

The Final matchup goes Friday night at 7:30. This is the last chance for the girls to make a good

impression to the coaching staff before tryouts in September.

Westman Wildcats Prospect Camp Day One
Mar 22, 2012, 9:17 am

It was a fun night had by all current and future Wildcats at the first of three Spring Prospect inter-squad games. Former Wildcat Kiara De Kezel put the players through some drills before Team Blue battled Team White. Kiara is home for the USA spring break before heading back to the University of Wisconsin Superior to start the last semester. She plays hockey there for the NCAA Division 3 Yellowjackets. She had a great first year playing some high caliber hockey.

Team White beat Team Blue 3-1. Karissa Kirkup scored 2 for Team White and Teagan Pringle rounded out the scoring. Jaycee Magwood got the lone goal for Team Blue. Kristen Campbell and Rachelle Lougheed were busy in the nets stopping numerous high caliber scoring chances. 32 players took part in the first night of action. The Wildcat program has a very good future with a lot of quality young hockey players coming up. If you still want to come to camp, the sessions start at 7:30 on both Thursday and Friday night. Just show up and the organizers will get you on a team.

Please note for Thursday. Special guest speaker and former Wildcat coach Dwight Pollock will be discussing the opportunities that are available for female hockey players beyond the midget level. His presentation will start at 6:00.
